Brian Kelley, General Manager, joined Complex Media in April 2007. Brian oversees the financial operations of Complex with additional responsibility for Human Resources, magazine Production and Distribution, Office administration, and Legal Affairs. Prior to joining Complex, Brian spent five years working for the Chief Financial Officer of Dennis Publishing USA (Maxim) after starting his career in media with Wenner Media (Rolling Stone, Us Weekly, and Men's Journal). Brian was named Secretary and Treasurer of Complex Media in November 2009.
Joined Complex in 2002, where he has been responsible for impressive year-over-year ad sales growth and has introduced a wide variety of innovative programs such as multi-tiered advertising initiatives, cross-platform sales, custom premium content ownership sections and 360 touch-point programs combining online, offline and special events. Prior to joining Complex, Moksha was Fashion Manager at The Source Magazine from 1999-2002. He has a BS in PoliSci from Southern Connecticut State University.
Noah Callahan-Bever began working in magazines when he was 17, serving as the senior editorial assistant at NYC's ego trip magazine. By the time he began attending NYU, in 1997, he'd already spent the summer fact checking at VIBE. Through out college Noah maintained the position of contracted Writer-At-Large for VIBE's spin-off, BLAZE. In the years after leaving school Noah tried his hand at a number of related trades, A&Ring for a Sony distributed label and writing numerous programs for MTV and MTV News, however in 2002 he returned to magazines as the Editor-In-Chief of Mass Appeal. Eleven months later he was asked to be the Senior Editor of VIBE, which he did for 2 years before joining the staff of Complex as Deputy Editor in 2005. A year later Noah was promoted to Editor-In-Chief. When not ruling with an iron fist, Noah can be found residing in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn and wishing his building allowed pets. He really likes cats.
In March 2011, Scott Cherkin joined Complex Media (CM) as Executive Vice President of Product & Business Development and oversees audience development, publisher relations, social, mobile and video. Prior to Complex, Cherkin most served as Senior Vice President of Product and Business Development at the Travel Ad Network (now Travora Media), a leading vertical travel media company where he led the company’s publisher network as well as product strategy, including audience targeting and lead generation. Previously, Cherkin served as Director of Business Development at Dotomi, where he oversaw the marketing of audience targeting solutions. Cherkin has also held leadership positions in sales, marketing and business development at companies including theglobe.com, S&H Greenpoints, Book Reporter, and BPA. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Penn State University.
Edgar Hernandez has been with Complex Media since 2009. It's his second term with Complex, the first time in 2005 he was instrumental in building up existing and new business across Spirits, Fashion, Grooming, and Footwear. He was recruited to be a National Sales Director at Stuff, managing it's national sales team. Vibe Media then recruited him to be Associate Publisher, and later Publisher where he led sales and marketing for two years. When he received the call from Rich and Moksha to re-join the organization to help them aggressively drive revenue across all media platforms, it was an easy decision. He graduated from University of Massachusetts in 2000, and has been living in NYC since.
Born and raised in the northern Siberia, Aleksey started to develop a passion for technology while taking Civil & Industrial Engineering classes in his hometown college. After moving to the US, Aleksey studied International Business Administration and Computer Science at Wagner College. In 2000, Aleksey joined Diversified Media Holdings, Inc, where he also served as VP of Technology. In 2004, Aleksey joined Marc Ecko Enterprises as a Senior Web Producer and in 2007 moved over to Complex Media to oversee all Web and IT related operations.
Alvaro Gomez joined the Complex team in 2010. As VP of Advertising Operations, he leads the Account Management and Digital Advertising Operations teams in New York and Los Angeles. With a passion for operational processes and efficiency, Alvaro contributes 14 years of experience creating and leading operations teams in several fast growing Digital Media start ups. Prior to Complex he lead the operations teams at DoubleVerify, Operative, and WebSideStory (currently part of Adobe).
Rachel joined the Complex Media team in 2008. As Marketing Director, she manages marketing, promotions, design and video production teams in New York City and Los Angeles, and oversees all marketing initiatives across digital, print, mobile and experiential extensions. Prior to Complex, Rachel was an Account Director at Drillteam Marketing, where she oversaw youth-targeted promotions and produced brand events for Toyota. Previously, as Senior Marketing Manager at Blender Magazine, she created, planned and executed merchandising programs and custom music events. Rachel also has worked in sales and marketing at ESPN.com, Elle Magazine and MTV Networks. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism.
